Over the last century, our cities faced uncommon growth of traffic congestion and as a result of this, there is an increase in environmental pollutions. Some experts believe that the rising cost of petrol is the best way to tackle this problem. However, in my opinion, I completely believe that using other measures will immensely help to tackle such issues.
Nowadays, people, all over the world, tend to use their own cars due to being more comfortable and easier. For example, by increasing the price of petrol could lead people to travel less by their personal cars and as a result, the use of public transport could be more convenient in price. Of course, this measure may limit using cars for traveling long distances, but it is not effective for decreasing using cars in cities and for traveling short distances and as a consequence, the problem will not solve.
There are several measures which can be done by governments. A good approach is to improve and develop the public transport facilities so that people feel comfortable to use them. The second way could be restriction of some areas in city for using cars, for example, city centers and the places where the traffic is higher. In addition, another measure is to educate people through advertisements about the benefits of using public transport instead of personal cars and the drawbacks of increasing the use of cars in the environmental pollution. Thus, is a good way for improving the problem of air pollution which needs to be developed.
To conclude, the concerns about environmental pollution problems caused by cars and traffic congestion are increasing over the last century. To overcome the problems, both governments and people should take responsibility in order to have cleaner air and environment and solve the traffic congestion.
